The movies I generally watch are mainstream, blockbuster features. I basically watch movies you actually hear about. But when I do hear about or see independent or short movies, in many cases the viewing experience is thoroughly enjoyable, and Stan Maynard is no exception. What I like most about these kinds of movies is that they're made to tell a story, whereas most of the stuff that comes out of Hollywood these days is clearly made to put more money in the studio's very large and hungry pockets.
As a very big fan of Eureka, naturally I would want to see a short movie fronted by one of the show's most popular supporting actors (Neil Grayston) and containing guest appearances from many of the show's other cast members (including its lead Colin Ferguson).
Within 24 hours of receiving my copy, I had seen Stan Maynard twice. In fact, just minutes after I received it, it was on my television screen. Eagerness, much? The general story is that Stan Maynard is going to have his best day ever - he's gonna nail the smoking hot girl he's had his eyes on for quite some time, using a number of clever tactics. Of course, there's more to it than that which we do eventually discover, after being teased throughout with Chris Gauthier (another popular Eureka supporting actor) and Lorin Turner commenting on what Stan's getting up to! Circulation of this isn't mainstream, but if you do get the opportunity to see this, I highly recommend you take it.
The only negative point I have towards this really is that it's length is 33-minutes...not a lot of time when you're stuck on a 9 hour flight from Vancouver, Canada to Manchester, England!
